YANGON (20 Jan 2013) – Zeyar Shwe Myay took the lead in the Myanmar National League 2013 when they scored their third win in a row – this time dispatching Southern Myanmar 2-0 at the Monywa Stadium.
Following a first half deadlock, Zeyar duly found the back of the net in the 57th minute through Sa Sa before Aung Myo Lwin puts the game beyond reach in the 79th minute.
Zeyar’s win came off early victories over Hantharwady United (1-0) and then Zwekapin United (2-0) in their first two games of the season which now allowed them to leapfrog over Yangon United at the top of the table.
In the meantime, former champion Yadanarbon FC scored a 2-0 win over Hantharwady at the YTC Stadium with goals off Paing Soe early in the fifth minute and then another from Paulo five minutes to the end.
Elsewhere, Kanbawza FC edged Naypyitaw 2-0 at the KBZ Stadium while Zwekapin beat Rakhine 1-0 at the Aung San Stadium with the only goal in the game coming off Aung Kyaw Zin Oo in the 54th minute.
