YANGON (27 Sept 2019) – Yangon United won their second General Aung San Shield in two years when they beat Shan United 4-3 in extra time at the Thuwunna Stadium.
It was Shan United’s Zin Min Ton who grabbed the opening goal after just eight minutes of play as the match then went deadlocked until the start of the first half when Yangon United drew level through Sylla in the 51st minute.
Shan United then put their noses in front again through Zwe Thet Paing in the 65th minutes as Yangon United then forced the game into extra time off Soe Min Naing right at the death.
Min Kyaw Khant then gave Yangon United the lead for the first time in the game as Shan United’s Emmanuel 111th minute strike then put the score levelled at 3-3.
Sylla then nailed the winner for Yangon United in the 116th minute of play to wrap up their back to back win of the General Aung San Shield.
