YANGON (24 March 2010) – Yangon United moved up to second in the Myanmar National League when they thumped Zwekapin United 4-0 on the weekend – courtesy of a brace from David Da Rocha.
Following the first goal from Kyaw Thura in the tenth minute, Da Rocha capitalised on two superbly taken freekicks in the 40th and 75th minute as Elisangelo then contributed a goal in between (58th minute) to put Yangon in a comfortable position. In the meantime, Zeyar Shwe Myay maintained their place at the top of the table when they edged out Magway with the slimmest 1-0 margin. The late strike from Ye Waiyan Soe three minutes to the end ensured Zeyar Shwe Myay as the only team to have won both their matches in the MNL this year. The match between Manaw Myay and Southern Myanmar ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw when the latter staged a late fightback after being two goals down at the half. Manaw Myay went in fron through Aung Hein Kyaw in the tenth minute and Soe Ko Ko in the 26th minutes respectively before Nigerian striker Prince nailed both goals (69th and 73rd minute) for Southen Myanmar to steal the one point. In the other matches, Yadanarbon FC had an early strike from Kone in the 16th minute to thank as they saw out Okkthar United 1-0 while Kanbawza dealt Delta United a 1-0 loss with the only goal in the game coming off Sa Htet Naing Win in the 45th minute.
