YANGON (8 Nov 2009) – Yadarnabon FC’s 2-1 win over Magway FC has opened up a five-point lead over second-placed Delta United at the top of the Myanmar National League.
After ten matches in the Myanmar National League 2009, Yadarnabon have picked up 25 points as against Delta’s 20 points although the latter have played a game less. Against Magway, international striker Yan Paing opened account in the seventh minute before an own goal from Awona Zee in the 14th minute allowed Yadarnabon to be comfortably 2-0 in front. Magway then gave themselves a lifeline with their first goal of the game off Pyae Phyo Oo two minutes after the restart. But Yadarnabon held on to defend their slender lead to pick up their second full points following their close 1-0 victory over Delta in their last league game. In the other match, Okkthar United scored a slim 1-0 win over Southern Myanmar FC with the only goal of the game coming in the 54th minute off Peter Chike.
