YANGON (16 March 2016) – Yadanarbon FC continue to maintain their hold of the Myanmar National League 2016 after beating Hantharwady United 3-1 in a top of the table clash this week at the Aung San Stadium.
With the win, Yadanarbon have now opened up a five-point lead over second-placed Hantharwady.
Aung Thu opened account after just 22 minutes before two quick goals from Keith (26th and 32nd minute) gave Yadanarbon three goals in front.
Hantharwady replied through striker Bamba in the 34th minute but it failed to jumpstart a fightback as the score remained all the way to the end.
“We were slow in the first half and we gave too many chances to Yadanarbon,” said Hantharwady coach U Ngwe Tun after the match.
Elsewhere, Ayeyawady United beat Zeyar Shwe Myay 1-0, as Chin United edged Southern Myanmar 3-0 while Magwe and Shan United were tied 1-1.
