BANGKOK (13 Jan 2015) – Following the withdrawal of Croatia, Datuk Worawi Makudi, the president of the FA of Thailand (FAT) is looking at a possible replacement including inviting AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 runners-up Malaysia.
Croatia had to pull out their participation from the King’s Cup slated for 1-7 February in Nakhon Ratchasima due to the unavailability of players.
“What happened was out of our control. But we already have a Plan B and are considering whether to invite either Malaysia, the 2014 Asean Championship runners-up, South Africa’s pre-Olympic side or an Uzbekistan XI,” said Worawi.
The other teams taking part in the 43rd edition of the King’s Cup are North Korea and South Korea.
