KUALA LUMPUR (30 April 2013) – Asian Football Confederation (AFC) presidential candidate Datuk Worawi Makudi, arrived here this evening in high spirits for the eagerly-anticipated AFC elections on Thursday morning.
The FIFA Exco member and FA of Thailand president was accompanied by several Thai officials. Worawi, a FIFA Exco member since 1997, is the last of the four presidential candidates to arrive in the Malaysian capital.
“I had a good trip and am looking forward to this week’s proceedings,” said a smiling Worawi upon his arrival at the posh Mandarin Oriental Hotel, venue of this week’s AFC elections.
Worawi is confident he has sufficient support to win. ASEAN’s 11 member nations recently declared their unanimous support for Worawi.
“My friends will always be with me. I am very sure about that. Beyond ASEAN, I have travelled and spoken with a lot of member associations. I shared my hopes and aspirations and they liked what I had to say.”
