HANOI (10 June 2014) – Chen Yun Fa has ended his tenure as the head coach of the Vietnam national side, following a mutual agreement not to extend the contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
His contract expires at the end of the month.
After working with the VFF for the last eight years, Yun Fa from China cited age and his desire to spend more time with the family as his reasons for his departure.
Vietnam’s failure to make the cut for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup next year in Canada was also a contributing factor.
The VFF announced that a Japanese coach will replace Yun Fa at the helm.
