HANOI (5 March 2010) – The Vietnam National Women’s Football Championship begins this week in the northern province of Ha Nam.
The annual championship will have six teams competing in a two-leg round-robin format with the first leg set to finish on 26 March. The second leg will be played from 9-26 June in Ho Chi Minh City. The winning team will take home VND80 million (USUSD4,200). The runners-up will pocket VND60 million (USD3,100) while the third-placed team set to take VND30 million (USD1,570). Defending champions Ha Noi Trang An 1, formed by a merger of Ha Noi and the former Ha Tay team, are firm favourites for the crown. They have seven players from the national team which won the gold medal at the SEA Games in Laos in December. |
