BANGKOK (26 Sept 2014) – Thailand bowed out of the quarter-final of the Asian Games in Incheon this week when they fell to a 2-1 loss to ASEAN neighbours Vietnam.
“Our players lost concentration when they conceded the equaliser and this was not good,” said Thailand coach Nuengruathai Srathongvieng.
“The Vietnamese played well and effectively handled our wide-players.”
Thailand dominated for long periods against Vietnam and in the 50th minute, Nisa Romyen gave them the lead before Nguyen Thi Lieu equalised just two minutes later.
But Nguyen Thi Tuyet unleashed a fabulous volley in the 67th minute to end Vietnam’s string of bad runs against the Thais.
