MANILA (17 June 2014) – The Philippines bagged three awards at the conclusion of the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship (ASEAN) on Sunday.
Apart from finishing runners-up, the Filipinas clinched the Fair Play Award while midfielder Joyce Omboy Semacio became the MVP having featured in two editions of the tournament including the inaugural one last year.
Meanwhile, Vietnam midfielder Tran Thi Hai Linh became the top scorer in the competition having scored a whopping five goals in their 8-0 routing of Cambodia in their campaign opener and another goal against Myanmar whom they beat in the third-place match.
Thailand came away the winners after beating the Philippines 2-1.
