HANOI (19 May 2012) – Le Thi Hoai Thu’s second-half goal did not only gave Vietnam Coal and Minerals a crucial win over their nearest rivals Ha Noi Trang An 1 but has also propelled them to the top of the standings in the Vietnam Women’s Football Championship 2012.
The top of the table clash in the second round of the Women’s League saw Ha Noi Trang An 1 losing their grip of the leaderboard as Vietnam Coal wrested control with 13 points.
Hanoi were the more dangerous side in the encounter at the Ha Nam Stadium but their failure to convert the chances they had gave the initiative to Vietnam Coal. And off a quick counter-attack in the 52nd minute, Hoai Thu slammed home the only goal in the game to give Vietnam Coal the crucial three points going into the final lap of the season.
