WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: HO CHI MINH CITY ON TOP AFTER FIRST ROUND

HO CHI MINH CITY (2 April 2010) – A close 1-0 win over Phong Phu Ha Nam has allowed Ho Chi Minh City to end the first round of the Vietnam Women’s Football Championship 2010 at the top of the standings.

The only goal in the game came off international Doan Kim Chi in the 63rd minute as Phong Phu Ha Nam tried in vain in the closing stages of the game to find the elusive equaliser.

The victory for Ho Chi Minh City has allowed them to wrap the first round of the championship at the top of the pecking order with ten points from five matches.

Hanoi Trang An I are second with nine points while Vietnam Coal and Mineral had to settle for third with eight points.

The second round of the Vietnam Women’s Football Championship 2010 will be held on 9-26 June at the Thong Nhat stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
