HO CHI MINH CITY (10 March 2014) – Phong Phu Ha Nam have taken the lead at the end of the first round of the Vietnam National Women’s Football Championships after amassing 12 points from five matches played.
Defending champions Hanoi One finished the first round of the championship on second after they scrambled to a 1-1 draw against hosts HCM City in the final game of the first round.
HCM City captain Tran Thi Kim Hong had fired in a superbly taken free kick in the 81st minute before substitute Pham Hai Yen headed in the equaliser for Hanoi One with four minutes remaining.
With the one point, it was enough for Hanoi One to finish the first round on second with 11 points while HCM City grabbed third place with eight points.
