HANOI (30 July 2014) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have decided against hiring a foreign coach for the team where they have instead chosen to bring back former national coach Mai Duc Chung to the helm.
Duc Chung was in charge of the women’s team when he led them to the SEA Games gold medals in 2003 and also 2005.
With the position left vacant by Chen Yun Fa from China earlier in the year, the VFF had to appoint Duc Chung to lead the squad to the ASIAN Games in Incheon, South Korea in September.
Duc Chung had recently resigned as the chief coach of V-League side Thanh Hoa.
