SINGAPORE (28 Nov 2011) – A hat-trick from Luo Jian Zhen gave Borussia Zamrud FC a well-deserved 3-2 win over FAS Young Women for them to take the 2011 FAS Women’s Challenge Cup at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
Borussia, who had earlier won the League crown earlier in the year, could not have got a better start than when striker Jian Zhen nailed the opener early in the ninth minute.
But the FAS Young Women team was quick to reply through Noor Fatin Afiqah just two minutes later before Borussia then put their noses in front again in the 15th minue for them to take a 2-1 lead at the half.
Uma Devi than gave Young Women a fighting chance in the second half with the equalizer just before the hour mark. But there was no denying Borussia the win and the crown when Jian Zhen capped the winner five minutes to the end.
