BANGKOK (22 March 2010) – Muang Thong United got their title defence of the Thai Premier League well on the way when they scored a 2-1 win on the road over Si Sa Ket FC.
In the match that was played at the Si Sa Ket Physical Education College, Muang Thong showed their determination for their first full points of the season for Christian Kouakouyao to slam home the lead in the 35th minute. And just after the break, Soumahoro Yaya made it 2-0 for the champs when he lobbed the ball over Si Sa Ket keeper Poosit Pongsurat. The homesters then pulled a goal back through Piyawat Thongmaen but they failed to get the equaliser they were looking for even though Brazilian striker Valci Taisira Junior came close on several occasions. In the meantime at the Rayong Main Stadium, TTM Phichit – formerly TTM Samut Sakhon – grabbed their first full points of the new season when they beat Navy Rayong 2-1. TTM Phichit made sure of the win with two goals from Frank Adams (31st minute) and Lion Guatta (88th) as Navy scored their only goal in the game off Suttinun Nontee in the 39th minute. |
