HANOI (Jan 2, 2008) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have announced a windfall of USD 43,400 (VND 700 million) for the winner of the V-League 2008 which will kick off on Jan 6, 2008.
The V-League 2008 will still be funded by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and where this season will feature 14 teams including The league which is slated to end on Aug 24, 2008 will also see the runners-up team taking home USD 21,700 (VND350 million) and the third-placed team winning USD 9,300 (VND 150 million). In the meantime, the National Cup 2008 will still be sponsored by Vinakansai Cement for the third consecutive year and where they have also pledged their desire to sponsor the event in 2009 as well. The National Cup 2008 features 14 teams from the V-League and 13 from the First Division. The winning team will receive USD 15,500 (VND 250 million) with the runners-up winning USD 7,750 (VND125 million) while the third placed team gets USD 3,100 (VND 50 million). The winner of the National Cup 2008 will play in the Super Cup tie against the V-League 2008 champions. |
