WIN OVER WAT PHNOM GIVES NAGA CORP TOP SPOT

PHNOM PENH (31 May 2010) – Naga Corp FC continued their fine run in the Metfone Cambodian League when the defending champions picked up their fourth win on a trot – this time a 3-1 victory over Wat Phnom which saw them taking over the top spot from Build Bright United FC.

Two goals from Chin Chhum in the 25th and 33rd minute put Naga Corp well on the way to the full points even though Phlong Chanthou pulled a goal back for Wat Phnom in the 74th minute.

Confident Naga then put the game beyond the reach of Wat Phnom with the third goal of the game deep in injury time off Tong Soto.

With the end of the first round of the Metfone Cambodia League round the corner, Naga have the chance to extend their position at the top provided they can overcome Phnom Penh Crown FC on 2 June.

In the meantime, Preah Khan Reach FC strengthened their position in the top half of the table with a comprehensive 4-1 beating of National Defense Ministry FC despite having to come back from a goal down.

National Defense grabbed their one and only goal in the game off Nao Soseyla in the 14th minute before Preah Khan staged a second-half fightback with four goals.

Suon Thuon grabbed the equalizer in the 55th minute as international Sam El Nasa then put Preah Khan in front for the first time in the game with the second goal in the 71st minute.

A blitz from Khuon Laboravy in the 82nd and 88th minute then gave Preah Khan the advantage going into the finish.
