BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (28 Feb 2012) – Vietnam and Timor Leste picked up their first win in Group B of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 last night. Vietnam beat Cambodia 2-1 while Timor edged Malaysia 2-0 at the Berakas Sports Complex.
Following a first-half deadlock, it was Vietnam who went ahead first when Que Ngoc Hai struck home in the 53rd minute before adding their second goal right at the end off Pham Hoang Lam.
Cambodia pulled back with a late goal from Teab Vathanak.
In the meantime, Timor Leste began their campaign with a 2-0 win over Malaysia with a goal in each half. Jorge Manuel Alves put Timor in front on seven minutes as Marcos Jesus nailed the other in the 57th minute.
