PHNOM PENH (9 June 2008) – It was business as usual for both Phnom Penh Empire FC and Build Bright United as both teams coast for the full points in the Cambodian Premier League on the weekend.
Phnom Penh beat Moha Garuda 2-0 while Build Bright United beat Naga Corp FC 4-3. Two goals in the first half of the game – from Srey Veasna in the 17th minute and A. G. Samuel in the 40th minute – were enough for Phnom Penh to see off Moha Garuda. But the match was much closer for Build Bright and where they had to hold on hard in the closing stages of the game before they were able to pick up the three points against Naga. Build Bright were 2-1 ahead at the break with goals off N. S. Ahiem in the 18th minute and Sem Bunny in the 32nd minute while Naga Corp replied through Chin Chum in the 30th minute. Chin Chum then found the equaliser for Naga with his second goal of the game four minutes after the restart but Build Bright were quick to stage a fight back with two goals off Sem Bunny (55th minute) and N. S. Ahiem (59th minute. But Chin Chum’s completion of his hat trick (85th minute) failed to change the inevitable as Build Bright stayed the course for the points. |
