HANOI (11 Oct 2016) – After drawing Indonesia to a 2-2 draw this week, Vietnam coach Nguyen Huu Thang believes that his team will be a lot stronger for the return tie in less than a month in Hanoi.
In the match that was played this week at Stadium Maguwoharjo, in Jogjakarta, Indonesia, it was the visiting Vietnamese side who took the lead with a rifling shot from Le Van Thang early in the fourth minute before Vu Minh Tuan scored the second goal nine minutes later.
But Indonesia were not about to be embarrassed at their home turf as Zulham Zamrun then slammed in a freekick in the 25th minute while striker Irfan Bachdim then made good on a cross from Andik Vermansyah two minutes later for the draw.
“Indonesia showed a lot of mental strength when they came back from two goals down. So I believe that for the return tie in Hanoi, the game will be even better,” said Huu Thang.
“We will be even better prepared.”
