PETALING JAYA (14 Sept 2012) – The FA of Malaysia (FAM) are keeping their faith on chief coach Datuk K. Rajagobal to lead the Malaysian team to their title defence in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 at the end of the year.
The team fell to a 2-0 loss in a friendly to Vietnam at home this week but Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad, the general secretary of the FAM, feels that Rajagobal should be allowed to handle the team as he sees fit.
“There is no team in the world which never loses. We should give the coach the opportunity to mould the squad where there are still games against Hong Kong and Vietnam coming up,” said Azzuddin (pix).
“The loss is a lesson and they should learn from this. No point for us to win now only to lose later at the championship.”
Regardless of what happens at the AFF Suzuki Cup later this year, the FAM have set the target for Rajagobal to qualify for the Asian Cup in 2015.
