HANOI (7 Nov 2012) – Sergio Gargelli, the chief coach of the Vietnam Futsal team, is confident that they can qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
He made this statement following the team’s recent performance at the International Futsal Exhibition Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam finished second in the competition following their 6-5 win over Uzbekistan, a 4-2 beating of Kuwait before losing 9-0 to Italy.
“We still lose to a strong team like Italy. But the Vietnamese players’ showed that they can give a lot of problem to big rivals if they apply the strategies well and play in good spirits. The win over Uzbekistan and Kuwait were good examples,” explained Gargelli (pix).
