VIETNAM U22 HEAD TO THAILAND INSTEAD OF SLOVAKIA

HANOI (3 June 2012) – Due to time constraint, the Vietnam Under-22 team has had to change their plans from having their training cum friendlies in Slovakia to having it in Thailand instead.

It was felt that with than less than three weeks to go to the first match of the AFC U22 Asian Cup qualifiers, heading to Slovakia for friendlies would not have been a wise decision.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have since changed their plans where the U22 team will now report for camp on 5 June in Hanoi before leaving for Thailand ten days later where they have been penned to play two games against the Thais U22 squad.

For the qualifiers that will be hosted by Myanmar, Vietnam have been placed in Group G against Chinese Taipei, the Philippines, Malaysia and South Korea.
