HANOI (2 July 2010) – Vietnam Under-19 lads checked into camp this week in preparation for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) U19 2010 Championship which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on 24-30 July.
At the AFF U19 2010 Championship, Vietnam will be against the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Australia. Twenty youth players have been called into the camp where they will be stationed at the Youth Football Training Centre until 14 July before moving to the HCM City-based Thanh Long Sports Centre until the opening day of the tournament. Other than training sessions, the U19 team will also play several friendly matches with the Vietnam U21 team and also football clubs from the north. Vietnam will take on Thailand in the opening match on 24 July – after the earlier game between Australia and Korea. |
