HANOI (23 March 2014) – The Vietnam Under-19 team suffered a loss in their final match of their England Tour when they fell to a 4-2 loss to the Birmingham youth side.
What made the defeat even harder to swallow was the fact that the Vietnam side had taken a 2-0 lead on 16 minutes off goals from Nguyen Cong Phuong and Le Van Son.
But Birmingham pulled a goal back just before the break from Goerge McGee as they then piled three more goals in the second half through Liam Truslove, an own goal from a Vietnamese defender and also Reece Brown for their second loss in a row.
The team had a few days earlier fell to a 9-0 loss to U19 Tottenham Hotspur.
They had begun the trip with a 3-0 win over U19 Arsenal, and then drew 1-1 against U19 Coventry City and also 2-2 deadlock with U19 Wimbledon.
Vietnam will now head to Belgium next.
