VIETNAM TO PLAY KUWAIT ON 31 MAY

Vietnam scored a 1-0 win over Olympiakos in a friendly that was played at the My Dinh Stadium with super sub Nguyen Quang Hai scoring the winner two minutes to the end following a cross from
Nigerian-born Dinh Hoang Max.

Apart from Hoang Max (pic), the match also marked the appearance of Ukraine-born goal-keeper Dinh Hoang La, who also took Vietnamese citizenship recently.

For the match against Kuwait, national head coach Henrique Calisto has called up three recently naturalized players where apart from
defender Hoang Max (Nigerian-Vietnamese), goalkeeper Hoang La (Ukrainian-Vietnamese), he has also included striker Huynh Kesley (Brazilian-Vietnamese) in the squad.

“Three foreign players is a good number for the national squad. The Vietnamese team should be built up mainly on domestic players,” quipped Calisto.
