HANOI (7 Oct 2012) – 2008 ASEAN champions Vietnam will be heading to the coastal city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province as they look to grind up for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 next month.
The team which had only recently beaten defending champions Malaysia 2-0 in Kuala Lumpur and then held Indonesia to a scoreless draw in Surabaya will be concentrating on increasing their physical prowess.
With national coach Phan Thanh Hung of the opinion that the team is still lacking power, the hard work in Nha Trang under English fitness coach Dylan Kerr will hopefully improve the team’s overall strength.
Vietnam’s next friendly match will be against Indonesia on 16 October at the My Dinh National Stadium.
For the AFF Suzuki Cup, Vietnam are placed in Group A against hosts Thailand, the Philippines and the winning team from the qualifying round.
