HANOI (28 August 2012) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have confirmed Japan as the destination for a centralized camp for the national side that will last ten days in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup later in the year.
It is believed that Vietnam – the winners of the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2008 – will head to the land of the rising sun just before their participation in the VFF Cup which has been slated for 24-28 October 2012.
The Vietnam national side will begin their centralized training camp inHanoi in early September before they take on defending ASEAN champions Malaysia in a friendly in Kuala Lumpur on 11 September and then Indonesia in Jakarta four days later.
Vietnam will then entertain Indonesia at the My Dinh National Stadium on 22 September.
After their trip to Japan, Vietnam will take part in the VFF Cup slated for 24-28 October where they will be up against DPR Korea, Turkmenistan and Iran Under-23 team.
They will play Malaysia at home on 3 November before heading to Bangkok on 20 November for the AFF Suzuki Cup where they have been placed in Group A against hosts Thailand, the Philippines and the winning team from the qualifiers in October.
