HANOI (23 August 2012) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have acquiesced to the demand from Phan Thanh Hung that he be allowed to fill his position as the new Vietnam chief coach as well as maintain his post at the club level.
Ngo Le Bang, the general secretary of the VFF, announced this week that the contract between the federation and Thanh Hung (pix) as the new coach of the national team will be signed early next month.
Thanh Hung will also be allowed to maintain this position at Hanoi T&T where he will be allowed to coach both teams at the same time. He will receive a monthly salary of around VND200 million (USD9,500) from VFF.
The immediate task for Thanh Hung will be for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 final round where they have been placed in Group A against hosts Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and the winning team from the qualifiers.
Group B are hosts Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the runners-up team from the qualifiers.
