HANOI (21 Jan 2012) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) showed that they do not tolerate indiscipline on the field when they banned four players between two to four matches for various offences.
The third match day of the Vietnam Super League did not go as well as expected with three out of seven matches affected by incidents of unruly behaviour.
In the match between Thanh Hoa and Binh Duong FC at the Thanh Hoa Stadium, incessant protest from Nguyen Chi Cong of Binh Duong led the latter to being served with a four-match ban and fine of VND15 million (USD750).
The punishment is the biggest thus far in the league this year.
In the game between Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) and Hanoi T&T at the Vinh Stadium, Huy Hoang and Samson were each served with two match bans and fine of VND10 million (USD500) of fine.
SLNA assistant coach Pham Anh Tuan was also ban for two matches for his involvement in the fracas between Huy Hong (SLNA) and Samson (Hanoi).
On the other hand, Khanh Hoa FC’s Tan Tai was slapped with a two-match ban and fine of VND5 million (USD250) for protesting in his team’s match against Hanoi FC at the Hang Day Stadium.
