HANOI (29 July 2012) – Following the byes on defending champions Nam Dinh and hosts Ninh Thuan, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) this week announced the groupings for the remainder of the 28 teams for the qualifying round of the National Under-21 Football Championship.
For the qualifiers slated for 1-15 September, Group A will see hosts Song Lam Nghe An taking on six other teams – Hanoi T&T, Hanoi Youth, Vicem Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh and Thua Thien-Hue.
Group B hosts Da Nang will take on Hanoi FC, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Binh Thuan.
Group C hosts Khatoco Khanh Hoa will play Navibank Saigon, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, TDC Binh Duong and Saigon Xuan Thanh.
Group D hosts Dong Tam Long An will encounter Vinh Long, Dong Thap, An Giang, Kien Giang, Can Tho and Tien Giang.
After the round robin matches, the winning team and the second-placed teams from each of the four groups will advance to the final round.
The VFF National U21 Championship will take place on 25 September to 5 October 2012.
