HANOI (8 Oct 2012) – The Vietnam Professional Football JSC (VPF) are looking to triple the cash incentive for winning the V-League 2012-2013 to USD 450,000.
Recently crowned V-League champions SHB Da Nang took home VND3 billion (USD 143,000) for winning the 2011-2012 season while for next season the VPF – the body responsible for running the league – have suggested an increase to VND9 billion (USD 450,000) for the 2012-2013 title.
It is not only the champions who will be recognised where the VPF are also planning to increase the cash incentives for teams coming in second and third.
The second-placed team will earn VND4 billion (USD 200,000) from VND1.5 billion (USD 75,000) currently while the team that finished third will win VND3 billion (USD 150,000) from the current VND750 million (USD 37,500).
In total, the VPF are expected to spend almost VND50 billion (USD 2.5 million) for the new season.
