BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (25 May 2013) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have imposed a fine of USD 5,000 on the National FA of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) for making a last minute withdrawal from the AFC Challenge Cup Group E qualifiers in Manila in March.
The NFABD have accepted the punishment and will not make an appeal.
“We accept the decision made by the AFC for our last minute-withdrawal from the AFC Challenge Cup Group E qualifiers,” said Pehin Datu Indera Sugara Brigadier General (R) Dato Paduka Mohammad Yusof Abu Bakar, the deputy president of the NFABD.
“We will have to face it and will pay the fine as soon as possible. We have to agree with the decision made by the AFC Disciplinary Committee. I hope that we can improve in the future and will be able to better plan and prepare ourselves in the coming tournaments.”
