HANOI (20 June 2015) – Despite coming in third at the recent SEA Games in Singapore, the Vietnam Under-23 still did not go home totally empty-handed as they were rewarded with VND3 billion USD 142, 000 by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Team manager Duong Vu Lam said that the reward is fair considering the effort of the players to make sure that they finish in the podium this year.
The VFF have also reiterated that they will still maintained the services of Japanese coach Toshiya Miura where his next assignment will be the 2016 AFC U23 Championship in Qatar.
The event is slated for 2-30 January next year.
“VFF leaders support Miura to continue coaching both national and U23 teams of Vietnam. We shouldn’t run after achievements so hastily. With a clear orientation, I believe Miura can do many things for U23 Viet Nam in the next two years,” said VFF president Le Hung Dung.
