BANGKOK (2 Sept 2016) – An unlucky penalty six minutes to the end denied Thailand their first point in the final qualifying round of the 2018 World Cup when they fell to a 1-0 loss to Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
Nawaf Al Abid converted a penalty in the 84th penalty to deny Thailand’s hope.
Thailand’s next match in the qualifiers will be against Japan at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Tuesday.
