THONG NHAT (14 August 2019) – Laos beat Timor Leste 4-0 to finish third in Group A of the AFF Under-18 Next Media Cup 2019 as the Philippines ended their campaign on a winning note to beat Brunei DS.
In the first game of the afternoon at the Binh Duong Stadium, Laos turned on the power to blast two goals in each half for the third win of their campaign this year.
Striker Chony Wenpaserth nailed the opening goal after 13 minutes before Thanouthong Kietnalonglop added the second goal of the afternoon right at the half-hour mark
Laos continued much in the same manner after the break with Phouvieng Phounsavath adding the third goal and Bounmy Pinkeo rounding off with the last goal of the game deep in injury time.
The win ensured Laos their place on third in Group A while Timor Leste stayed fourth.
The Philippines, who beat Brunei DS 4-1 in the second game of the evening at the same venue, completed their position on fifth while the Sultanate side sixth.
Lanky striker Carlo Guanzon Dorin rolled off a hat trick with goals in the 25th, 79th and 82nd for the Philippines following their first goal of the game through Pocholo Bugas.
Brunei DS only goal of the game came off Muhammad Aisan Aizuddin Abdullah Aiman three minutes to the end.
