CHONBURI (9 May 2019) – Danielle Tan delivered a superb freekick to give Singapore a close 2-1 win over Cambodia in the second match of Group B of the AFF U15 Girls’ Championship 2019 that was played this evening at the Institute of Physical Education.
Singapore and Cambodia fought hard in the opening quarter as they battled to take control at the centre of the park.
It came as no surprise then chances were few and in between as the game only came alive into the second half as strikers from both teams start to venture forward and take more risks.
And in the 70th minute, the Cambodian girls finally grabbed their first goal when Chroung Sokkheang combined well with striker partner Sem Malin to unleashed a fabulous dipping shot to beat Singapore custodian Noordiyanah Norazhar.
But the Singapore girls never give up as a mad scramble in the Cambodian box allowed substitute Alwydia Mohammad Faizal to stab the ball home.
Just when Cambodia thought that they would at least get the point from the tie, came Danielle with a fabulous freekick to beat Phin Sreyleap for the second time.
