PHNOM PENH (4 May 2012) – Two goals from Em Phanna punished defending champions Phnom Penh Crown FC to yet another defeat in the Metfone Cambodia League when they faltered to a 3-1 loss to Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC at the National Olympic Stadium this week.
The score at the end of the first half was 1-0 to the advantage of Kirivong after an early third minute strike from Eslam Mohamed Zaki Sarham. But Phanna made sure of the full points when he struck two goals in the last ten minute (81st and 9oth) before Ouk Sothy pulled a goal back seconds before the final whistle.
In the meantime, surprise package Boueng Ket Rubber Field were unlucky to improve their position in the league when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Preah Khan Reach FC.
Boueng Ket stole to a 2-0 lead at the break off goals from Wakuna Friday in the 32nd and 34th minute. But Cambodian international Khuon Laboravy struck back with the first goal for Preah Khan in the 71st minute before Prak Mony Odom grabbed the equaliser goal in the 87th minute for the one point.
