SINGAPORE (20 Jan 2015) – The Singapore Under-23 team will be based in Turkey from this week where they have been penned in to play four friendly matches during their sojourn in Antalya from 19 Jan to 4 Feb.
The trip is part of the team’s preparation for the SEA Games which Singapore will be hosting in June.
“The results are not important at this stage of our preparations because I know that the players are just getting back into their stride after the end of the previous season,” said coach Aide Iskandar.
“I want the boys to play their hearts out and to the best of their abilities. I want them to be hungry and show me what they can do.”
The Singapore youth side will play against the U23 teams of Russian side Spartak Moscow (23 Jan) and German Bundesliga outfit SV Hamburg (26 Jan), as well as against the Uzbekistan U21 team (29 Jan), and the Yemen U22 side (1 Feb).
