SINGAPORE (25 May 2008) – The four Asean representatives in the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup faced a tricky passage as they aspire to reach the last four of the championship.
This follows the official draw of the knockout stage of the meet which was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur yesterday which produced East-West meetings in three of the four quarter-finals. Singapore are represented by two teams with double winners Singapore Armed Forces meeting Oman’s Al Nahda while Home United take on Indian champions Dempo. Malaysian treble winners Kedah will be up against Bahrain league champions Muharraq while Malaysia’s other representatives, Perak, will take on Lebanese side Safa. The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played on 16 September with the return matches held a week later on 23 September.
