HANOI (31 May 2019) – It took 11 matches but in the end, TP Ho Chi Minh City finally fell to their first defeat of the 2019 Wake Up 247 V.League 1 season when they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Da Nang.
Playing at home gave all the confidence to former champions Da Nang as Do Merlo headed home Thanh Hai’s corner in the 56th minute following a first half deadlock.
International Ha Duc Chinh then finished things off five minutes to the end for Da Nang to move up to sixth at the table.
The loss did little to affect TP Ho Chi Minh City’s standing at the top where the southerners are still five points ahead of second-placed Hanoi FC.
Elswhere, Thanh Hoa beat Nam Dịnh 3-2 and Viettel drew with Quảng Ninh Coal 3-3.
