ILOILO (27 March, 2008) – The Philippines national team will be heading for a tour of Visayan cities in a bid to prepare the team for the Asian Challenge Cup qualifiers which has been set for mid-May.
The Philippines national team are currently in Barotac Nuevo in the district of Iloilo and where they have started an intense programme for the next three weeks before starting out on their tour in April. Among the cities which they will visit are Bacolod city Negros Occidental, Dumaguete city Negros Oriental, San Carlos city Negros Occidental and Cebu city before returning to Iloilo. “The players’ morale are high and they will be ready in a few weeks time,” said Norman Fegidero, the head coach for the Philippines national team. “But with the hard training coming up, it will be interesting to see who can last the pace.” Thus far, all the players which Fegidero has called are already in the team except for Ali Borromeo (undergoing therapy in Manila) while there’s still some uncertainty over Chris Greatwich. |
