PHNOM PENH (28 March 2010) – It was a tough experience for both newly-promoted sides Wat Phnom and Chhma Khmao when they were completely outclassed in their opening matches of the Metfone Cambodian League 2010 this week.
Wat Phnom were at a receiving end of a romping performance from Phnom Penh Crown FC when they were thrashed 8-1 while for Chhma Khmao, they simply had no answer when Preah Khan thrashed them 6-0. J. Uche Prince certainly did not waste any time for Phnom Penh when he blasted the first goal of the game in the very first minute of play before Keo Chea then added the second goal in the 14th minute. Phnom Penh Crown put themselves comfortably 3-0 ahead at the half through a Sok Pheng effort with four minutes remaining to the break. Ry Karouen then Wat Phnom a glimmer of hope with their first goal of the game on 67 minute but that was to be their only revival as Phnom Penh then turned the screw to lambaste five further goals for the win. Phnom Penh’s remaining goals were scored by Mpoko Oscar (71st minute), Sun Sophana (71st), Keo Sok Ngan (78th), Uche Prince (84th) and Chan Chhaya (89th). In the meantime, Preah Khan Reach FC also had a romping start to their campaign in this year’s Metfone Cambodian League – with a 6-0 thumping of Chhma Khmao. Khuon Laboravy was in the thick of the action with a hat-trick (45th, 49th and 76th minute) as Cambodian international Sam El Nasa nailed a brace (71st and 84th) and Sam Narith (80th) contributing the other goal for Preah Khan’s comprehensive victory. |
