BANGKOK (22 March, 2008) – TOT have moved up to the top of the Thailand Premier League 2008 table following their close 2-0 win over Tobacco Monopoly on the road.
With previous leaders and defending champions Chonburi sitting out on the match day, TOT’s win over Tobacco saw them taking 12 points from four matches. Chonburi are on second with 10 points from four matches while Tobacco Monopoly have collected 10 points from their five games thus far. Provincial Electric’s 2-0 win over Chula Sinthana allowed them to improve to fourth from sixth previously while BEC Tero Sasana slipped to fifth after they were held to an away 1-1 draw to Coke Bangpra. Port Authority picked up their first three points of the new season when they beat Bangkok University 1-0 as Army FC languished at the bottom of the new league standings without a single win to their name after two matches.
