YANGON (29 July 2013) – It is just a tad too late for Myanmar National League (MNL) strugglers to avoid dropping points as with just two more games to play to the end of the season, it is almost certain that they will be relegated to the lower division in 2014.
Second from bottom Hantarwady United held Ayeyawady United to a 2-2 draw while basement side Rakhine United finally picked up their first win of the season with a close 1-0 victory over Manaw Myay.
Hantarwady have collected just 13 points from 20 matches where this week, they scored twice through Aung Min Nyunt (42nd minute) and then Clifford 92nd minute penalty as Satoshi (71st minute) and then Soe Kyaw Kyaw (88th minute) found the target for Ayeyawady.
In the meantime, Rakhine United scored only their first win in 20 matches when they edged Manaw Myay 1-0 with the only goal of the game coming off Myat Min Thu in the ninth minute.
