DILI (8 Oct 2016) – Timor Leste are looking towards the match against Chinese Taipei tonight to fine-tune the team for the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup next week.
The Timorese will play Chinese Taipei in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup play-off first leg.
Timor-Leste coach Fernando Alcantara has declared confidence ahead the match against the Taiwanese.
“We have prepared very well,” he said. “I have spent a long time analysing the Chinese Taipei team and know their system well.
“The first leg is our home game and I think it will be a close one. We will work on what we have prepared and we want to get a result. We know we can get a win.”
“It is easier for the players to adapt to the stadium and the pitch when we are at home,” said defender Chinese Taipei Chen Yi-wei.
“We will do our best to take advantage and get a result.”
