Three Way Battle To Decide V-League 2012 Winner

HANOI (13 August 2012) – With the top two teams faltering as they head into the ultimate stage of the V-League 2012 next week, the race to decide the champions this year has now gone down to three teams.

Hanoi T&T fell to a 3-1 loss to Hoang Anh Gia Lai while SHB Da Nang fell to TĐCS Đồng Tháp 1-0. With 1-1 draw Saigon Xuan Thanh scored against Becamex Bình Dương, the competition is now for Hanoi T&T, SHB Da Nang or Saigon Xuan Thanh to decide which team is deserving of winning the crown this year.

In the match that was played at the Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi, hosts Hanoi T&T’s unfortunate run against Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) continue when they conceded the lead in the 29^th minute after Evaldo Goncalves made good on a cross from Bui Xuan Hieu. The score at the half was 1-0 to Hanoi T&T.

In the 65^th minute, HAGL went further ahead when Xuan Long delivered the cross that was good by Aganun Olushola. Nguyen Van Quyet pulled a goal back for Hanoi T&T in the closing stages of the game before Olushola made sure of the full points for the visitors’ right at the end.

At the Chi Lang Stadium, SHB Da Nang were not able to take advantage of the slip up of their nearest rival when they went down 1-0 to lowly Dong Thap at home, off an early fifth minute strike from Hai Anh.

Following the loss, SHB Da Nang are third at the table with 45 points, while Saigon Xuan Thanh are second from the same 45 points. Hanoi T&T are leading the standings with 46 points.

With defending champions Song Lam Nghe An out of contention, the final match day next week will decide the overall winner as The Vissai Ninh Bình entertain SHB Đà Nẵng at the Ninh Bình Stadium while, Sàigòn Xuân Thành take on Hànội T&T at the Thống Nhất Stadium in Hồ Chí Minh City.
