BANGKOK (15 Oct 2018) – A lone strike from Thitiphan Puangjan gave ASEAN champions Thailand a close 1-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago in a friendly that was played at the Suphanburi Stadium last night.
With the match being used as a testimonial for retiring Thai international goalkeeper Sinthavee Chaiyathat Ratanakul, both teams played a lively brand of attacking football.
And just six minutes after the hour mark, a quick Thai counter attack saw Thitiphan striking the winner from a tight angle.
The win was Thailand’s second in two matches following their identical 1-0 victory over Hong Kong on Thursday at the Mongkok Stadium with Philip Roller delivering the lone goal.
For the AFF Suzuki Cup next month, Thailand are in Group B against Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Timor Leste.
